First look at Neo-Kairos

The story

The city was built on their bones

In 2081, Helix-Tanaka Biotechnics announced the Lazarus Program: a hundred resurrected species, gene-locked, implant-controlled and licensed to the private reserves of Neo-Kairos's upper tiers. Tourists paid to watch a Tyrant feed from behind glass.

In 2089 the locks failed. Nobody knows whether it was sabotage, a bad firmware push, or something the animals learned. The Spire sealed its gates within the hour. Everything below tier forty was left to the creatures, and to whoever was too poor or too stubborn to leave.

You are Mara Voss, a former Helix containment officer with a chrome arm and a suspended licence, hired by the Cull Guild to clear the lower districts one bounty at a time. The deeper you go, the less the breach looks like an accident.

Gameplay

Hunt above. Survive below.

Open-world hunting through six districts by day, survival horror in the Helix facilities beneath them, and a night cycle that turns the whole city into the hunting ground.

Track and hunt

Every creature still carries Helix implants that talk to the grid. Tag them, hack a raptor's optic to see what it sees, and take a Tyrant apart plate by plate from the rooftops.

Survive the labs

Sealed facilities, counted ammunition, locks the staff left behind, and things in the specimen bays that were never on any licence. Running is usually the answer.

Build the gun for the animal

Guild benches rebuild every weapon for the contract: rail cores for dorsal plating, flechette for packs, tranq rounds for live captures that pay double.

Blackout

At 22:00 the grid drops for seven hours. Implants switch to night protocol and everything with a serial number starts hunting. Reach a safehouse, or use the dark.

$ZERO

Hunt. Get paid in $ZERO.

$ZERO is the currency of Neo-Kairos. Every bounty you close, every creature you capture alive and every part you strip from a kill pays out in it. It is the same $ZERO you hold in your wallet, so the money you make in the game is yours to keep, spend or take out.

01

Earn it hunting

Cull Guild contracts pay in $ZERO on completion. Raptor packs pay in the hundreds, live captures pay double, and a Tyrant-class contract pays tens of thousands. The better the hunter, the bigger the payout.

02

Spend it in the city

Weapons, mods, ammunition, outfits and safehouse upgrades all trade for $ZERO at Guild benches across the six districts. Sell salvage and creature parts to other players on the Guild market.

03

Take it out

In-game $ZERO and wallet $ZERO are one balance. Withdraw what you earn whenever you want, or bring $ZERO in to gear up faster. No separate premium currency, no conversion fees.
